Description:
Based on a Danish medieval ballad, Geuze composed the cantata "The Fairy King's Daughter" in 1854. Orff, a young man on the verge of marriage, encounters a group of fairies in the forest and is invited to join them in a dance, but he abides by the legend, "Never join the dancing fairies," and rides home on his horse, but eventually runs out of energy. It is a romantic work that is typical of Giese, who was trained by Mendelssohn in the early days of his career, and is also known as his first successful work. Lars Ulrich Mortensen, who specializes in works from the Baroque period, also shows great leadership in Romantic works, and he has carefully organized this large-scale story. The five songs, written during Gose's studies in Germany, are also beautiful works with much to offer. Naxos Japan
