Description:
The first "symphonic jazz" album by the Cologne Radio Orchestra. The soloist here is the orchestra's principal clarinetist, Andy Myles. However, it is not a case of a classical player playing jazz on the spur of the moment, as is often the case, but rather a superstar who is well known in the crossover genre and even teaches improvisation and tango classes to young people. In the three concertos recorded here, he plays with a lot of energy. His interplay with Wayne Marshall, another well-known crossover musician, is also worth listening to.
