Description:
This is the final collection of 24 Etudes Caprices by French violinist Emile Sauret (1852-1920). Sauret taught at the Royal Academy of Music for 12 years, and the 150 students he mentored are known to have had a profound influence on subsequent British music. In his memoirs, viola player Lionel Turtis wrote that "Sole had a wonderful left hand technique and was a master with the bow" when he played with Sole's string ensemble. Sole composed a number of exercises to convey his great technique, the most difficult of which are the "24 Etudes Caprices," which are considered to be the most difficult and artistically excellent of all. Each piece is nearly 10 minutes long and is so complete that it could stand alone as a concert piece. Throughout the series, Naturyn Rashidova plays a Stradivari made in 1685, named after the composer "Sole. She played the difficult piece with great skill, making full use of all the techniques of violin playing. Naxos Japan
