Scattered like petals carried on a breeze, a handful of small embroidered fans drift across this black velvet slip — sparse, delicate, and beautifully placed.

The Noir Fan is cut from black silk velvet as a true bias slip — fine straps, a clean straight neckline, a low back and a softly fluid line that falls to a full maxi length with a fine back slit.

Its embroidery is its quietest detail. Small open-fan motifs — each one a spray of fine lines opening from a single point — are scattered sparingly across the dress, worked by hand in soft blush pink and warm gold. They sit like scattered confetti, never crowded, letting the velvet itself do most of the talking.

It is the most pared-back of the embroidered velvets: a dress for someone who likes their detail understated and their silhouette pure.

Styling. A bias slip wants nothing fussy. Fine gold or pearl jewellery, a delicate heel, and a velvet or silk wrap for cooler evenings. Let the cut and the fall of the velvet carry the look.

Craftsmanship. Each Velvet Atelier dress is hand-embroidered in Vietnam by heritage artisan makers. Every fan is stitched and placed by hand, so no two dresses are scattered quite alike. Produced in a very limited run.
