Q. Will this work with or alongside my oil or gas boiler or heat pump?

A. Yes it will, most central heating boilers have flow and return and can have multiple heat sources connected and work efficiently.

Q. How often does it need refuelling?

A. 

This depends on the house and how much heat user likes. From experience and customer feedback, as a rough guide, an average 280m2 or 2800sqft property fitted with the DWBi 30kW boiler and a 1000 litre buffer tank, when using hardwood logs, should expect one to load the boiler up, once in 24hr cycle period. Assuming external temperature is around 3-6deg, property is around 50 years old, brick building, insulation could do with some work but has double glazed windows.

Q. What is the best place for this biomass boiler and the tank.

A. Ideally in an outbuilding, garage, shed or a scullery.

Q. What other parts will my house need?

A. If you already have a system boiler and the solid fuel system can be installed in close proximity, you will need flue kit (budget around £700-1000), couple of pumps, pipes and fittings, valves and few other pieces that are needed depending on the current system in your property, (budget £300 - 500).

Q. Can this be fitted in pressurised central heating system.

A. Yes it can, boiler and buffer tank can be fitted in either pressurised, open vented or gravity type central heating plumbing system.

Q. Does the boiler needs to be fitted by a specialist?

A. No, any confident plumber should be able to installed this set up, we provide technical back up should they have any questions.
