Where is the tour located?
The Vallarta Outdoor Adventure tour takes place at a private reserve in the heart of the Sierra Madre, approximately 6 miles south of Puerto Vallarta.
How do we get there?
The tour starts out on an inflatable boat ride that takes you to the fishing village of Boca de Tomatlan. Upon arrival you will board a Unimog truck and enter the forest to the Vallarta Outdoor Adventure base camp.
How challenging is this tour?
The Vallarta Outdoor Adventure requires a great deal of physical activity. Participants should be in good physical shape and be able to walk uphill for 30 minutes and climb a 20 ft ladder. There is also a weight restriction of 260 lbs.
Will I get dirty or wet?
Yes! You will be repelling down waterfalls and you will likely get dirty and/or wet during the hike portion of this excursion as part of the adventure.
What should I wear?
We recommend long shorts or pants, a t-shirt and comfortable closed-toed shoes. Please bring a change of clothes and shoes so that you can change before returning to Vallarta. You’ll be able to store the dry clothes in a locker at the base camp.
Is the mule ride difficult and what if I’ve never ridden before?
The mule ride is not classified as difficult and it will take about 25 minutes to get you through the forest to the first zipline. You’ll receive full instructions at the beginning of the tour but experience is not required. The mules go at an easy pace and they make for an easy ride.
Can I bring my camera?
For safety reasons cameras are not allowed on this tour in order to ensure that guests are focused on their guides and safety at all times. If you do bring your camera you can store it in one of the lockers at the base camp. Each tour will be accompanied by a professional photographer who is in charge of taking pictures as you fly across the ziplines and repel down waterfalls in Puerto Vallarta. These pictures will be available for purchase after the tour!
What are the restrictions for this tour?
For safety reasons pregnant women and people with a history of seizures, vertigo, back, knee or neck injuries or heart problems are not allowed to participate on this tour. Remember that this is a highly physically demanding tour.
