Description:
Haymarket Opera, established in Chicago in 2010, aims to perform operas and oratorios written in the 17th and 18th centuries on instruments of the time, and has presented more than 30 productions, including world premieres. The work featured this time is the opera "L'amant anonyme" by Saint-Georges, who was active in France. Based on a play by Félicité de Jeanlis, who was also the composer's patron, the opera was written in the form of an opera comic, with dialogue woven into the sung parts, and was the most popular of his six operas. The leading role of Léontine is sung by Nicolas Cabell, the winner of the 2005 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. She sings with a strong presence. She will be accompanied by Chicago-born tenor Jeffrey Agparo, the artistic director and founder of the opera house. CD3 includes the orchestral numbers in a suite style. Naxos Japan
