Imogen Cooper's Beethoven! Diabelli Variations! Imogene Cooper, a brilliant British woman who studied piano with Jacques Favrier and Yvonne Lefebvre in Paris, Jörg Dames and Paul Badura-Skoda in Vienna, and is known as a student of Alfred Brendel. She has earned an international reputation as a specialist in the Austro-German classical and romantic repertoire, especially Schubert, and has released recordings of Liszt, Wagner, Brahms, Chopin, Robert & Clara Schumann, etc. on the Chandos label. Beethoven album features the masterpiece "Diabelli Variations," which Imogen Cooper calls "one of the greatest works for solo piano ever written by Beethoven or any other composer," the Bagatelle Op. 119, and the well-known masterpiece "For Elise.
