Ella Fitzgerald
Description:
Ella Fitzgerald is one of the most popular jazz vocalists of the 20th century, and her previously unreleased live recording from Berlin in 1962, "Ella: The Lost Berlin Tapes" (UCCV-1182), which was released in 2020, has attracted much attention. Miraculously, another extremely valuable recording has been unearthed. This is a live recording of a performance at the Hollywood Bowl in 1958. Under the direction and arrangement of Paul Weston, Ella sang many of composer Irving Berlin's masterpieces. All of the songs were previously stored in Norman Granz's private collection, and this is the first time that they have been released to the public. It should also be noted that this is the only time Ella performed with Paul Weston in concert. (C)RS
