Celebrating the 90th anniversary of the birth of Gornostayeva, one of the most famous teachers of the Soviet Union! Vera Gornostaeva was a pianist from Moscow. She studied piano at the Central Conservatory of Music attached to the Moscow Conservatory, and then went on to the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under Genrich Neigaus. In 1966, she was awarded the title of Distinguished Artist by the Soviet government and promoted to the rank of professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Gennyshas, Kholodenko, and Gugnin, whom Gornostayeva called her "Three Musketeers" or "Three Bogatyri (legendary Russian heroes)," were her favorite pupils. All three had their own feelings about Gornostayeva, "She taught me the path to absolute freedom in art" (Gennyshas), "The responsibility of the musician, understanding, and true love" (Kholodenko), and "She was incredibly honest" (Gugnin), and here we see her excellent teachings being passed down through the veins of the expressive performances that suggest that her excellent teachings have been handed down from generation to generation.
