A stunning Charles II English oak chest of drawers, circa. 1680.

The drawers are of medium proportions with four drawers of varying sizes set on side runners. The drop handles are stylistically correct historic replacements. The drawers sit upon later oak ball feet which compliment the bold geometric design of the drawers exceptionally well. 

The oak has a stunning patina throughout and the whole chest remains in a very good clean condition. There is some wear to the extremities in places as is to be expected with a piece of this age. To the right side panel, the word 'boredom' can be seen lightly carved. Note this is only evident once pointed out or in a certain light, which is rather charming.

'S.H.C' is painted to the rear of the chest which presumably relates to one of the drawers' historic residences.
