One of the glass suppliers I work with has some impressive glass-cutting machines—some even use water as the cutting agent! They can create all sorts of shapes with amazing precision. I couldn’t resist getting a few of their intricate four-winged pieces, but, as a bit of a purist, I still prefer making my own cuts. Plus, at around $4 each, they aren't exactly cheap, so I use them sparingly.
This time, however, inspiration struck. I had some extra super-clear epoxy left over—the same epoxy I use to seal my name and logo into the base of my candles (immortality through branding, perhaps?). I decided to pour the epoxy over one of these dragonfly-shaped pieces at the bottom of a 3x3x3" vase, and just like that, the Dragonfly was born! To finish it off, I added a rich blue color, giving this candleholder its name and distinctive character.
The result? A beautiful candleholder that gives off a calming blue glow at night, adding a touch of magic to any space.
