Designed by Stockholm-based designer Nick Ross, the Tearoom Collection combines timeless, minimal design with comfort suited to a variety of settings. Inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s iconic Willow Chair, originally created for the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow between 1902 and 1904, the collection presents a contemporary interpretation of early 20th-century design through a refined and sculptural expression.
The Tearoom Lounge Chair with Loose Cover is built for enduring comfort and durability. Its clean, geometric form is softened by gentle curves that follow the body’s natural lines. Generously proportioned, the chair features a robust construction of plywood, hardboard and PU foam, supported by webbing and no-sag springs for lasting stability. The seat includes five layers of foam in varying densities for balanced support, while the back and armrests have a double foam layer with reinforced front sections for enhanced structure. Carefully considered details ensure a comfortable and supportive sitting experience.
The removable, washable loose cover is made from a durable cotton-wool blend that is soft to the touch. It features a discreet zip fastening for easy removal and replacement. The loose cover is also available to purchase separately; offering extra flexibility to adapt to changing interior aesthetics and personal colour preferences. Or if you would like a spare for when your standard cover is in the wash.
The Tearoom Lounge Chair is also available with a lower armrest and a swivel base with return.
