An upgrade from the UV-5R, the UV-82c has a louder 1 watt speaker, an upgraded solid case with larger buttons, a new chipset, and a new PCB board that outperforms range, accuracy and output of the previous Baofeng chipsets. 

To keep costs low, these are pre-programmed. If you need additional channels added, there will be a $25 programming charge. ($25 for the first radio, $10 for each additional radio of the same model)
