My mate Ellie Yankah quit her job in 2016 and went over to Greece to help refugees in Thessaloniki. One kid had drawn the refugee camp with smiley faces, a home with the word ‘happy’, some hearts and next to it, a poo with the word ‘muck’. We stuck her smile drawing on a T-shirt to help raise money for the school they set up. I’ve still got the drawing. It’s signed, ‘Erica, 9 years old. For you, one kiss’. Erica would be about 18 years old now, somewhere in the world. 51% of refugees are kids.
