Minnesota's State Bird: the Loon. Often spotted on top of a glazed lake.  The call of the loon is often heard in a place of calm and quiet.   

All pottery is hand-thrown. Individually decorated and glazed. Surface design is painted in reverse with velvet underglaze, transferred to a leather hard mug that has a base slip color. Designs are then subtracted from the surface with various tools, carving away to enhance the painting & showcase the raw clay.
