This is the SUPERLIFT 3.5 Inch suspension lift kit for the 1987-1996 Jeep Wrangler YJ 4WD models… the ones with the rectangular headlights. The Jeep YJ, sold as the Wrangler in the United States, replaced the Jeep CJ in 1986.

This SUPERLIFT system is designed for the 1987-1996 Jeep Wrangler YJ owners looking to gain ground clearance, wheel travel flexibility and have a level profile. The YJ have solid axles suspended by leaf springs at both front & rear ends. The leaf spring suspension is the same type of suspension as the Jeep CJ: axles are positioned above the leaf springs. The springs on the Jeep YJ are wider and the YJs have integrated track bars and sway bars for improved handling.

Superlift leaf springs feature tapered leaf ends with Teflon inserts between the leafs for reduced friction and bolt-style spring clips. The Superlift leaf spring line was developed to emphasize suspension travel and more compliant ride by decreasing spring rates. The Superlift springs offer the most responsive ride available without sacrificing durability and body roll characteristics.

The result is the best balance of stability, flexibility and ride quality of any 3.5-inch lift available. They’re pre-set to reduce fatigue in the steel, minimize settling and guarantee a consistent ride height. Shot-peened to increase tensile strength and allow maximum wheel travel without sacrificing the life of the springs.

The SUPERLIFT 3.5 inch lift for the 1987-96 Jeep Wrangler YJ includes front Superlift replacement leaf springs, rear Superlift replacement leaf springs with contoured degree-shims, durable polyurethane bushings for all leaf springs, new front and rear frame to axle U-bolts with heavy-duty flat washers & U-bolt long nuts.

Longer front anti-sway bar links prevent bar pre-load. Compression travel-stop extensions for front and rear prevent over compression. Relocation brackets for the front and rear track bars prevent steering wheel kick and align the body and axle. A forged, dropped pitman arm reduces drag link angle. Brake hose relocation brackets ensure adequate hose length. Our kit also includes a transfer case lowering kit with mounting hardware to relieve driveshaft angles.

Included in this system is a set of four (4) Superlift hydraulic shocks absorbers. Superlift shock absorbers are designed to provide excellent ride quality, durability and longevity. They feature 10-stage, velocity-sensitive valving for maximum control on or off-road without sacrificing a comfortable ride. Shock resistance is continually adjusted, depending on the terrain and vehicle speed.
