Ghostring is a 40mm vintage Submariner-style dive watch, a project that began with its dial. The dial, produced in February 2025, had been carefully tucked away in my cabinet waiting until I rediscovered it and asked myself: What was this dial meant to become?

 I knew it was destined for a Sub-style watch, but with my many variations on this design, I struggled to recall its original vision. I experimented with multiple combinations of hands, bezel inserts, case finishes, and bracelets Oyster or Jubilee. Then, I remembered the purple bezel insert I had aged a few weeks earlier, and suddenly everything fell into place.

And here it is a beautifully crafted, one of a kind timepiece. Its enamel-stained black gloss dial, with tropical-aged hour markers, harmonizes perfectly with hands that share the same weathered treatment, enhancing the watch’s overall character. The aged purple bezel insert steals the show there’s something about a bezel with history that captivates anyone who lays eyes on it. All of this sits within a patinated case and bracelet, evoking the spirit of past adventures. To top it off, the lightning style seconds hand giving the overall aesthetic of the watch that bold touch of uniqueness in its own subtle way.
