94 Points, Gary Walsh (The Wine Front) Tip Top Tipple - "It’s a little softer and more composed that the standard Gavi from this producer, offering pear, almond milk, a mint and chamomile perfume, along with some brighter citrus flavours. It has a fine chalky grip, a distinct ‘mineral’ edge, cool mint and pear skin, maybe some lemon oil, with a long gently dusty and white peppery finish. Gee, this is a good wine. It feels cool and the texture and feel of it is most excellent."

100% Cortese from Piedmont.  Piona are a low intervention producer who farm organically.  The wines are raised in stainless steel, preserving its excellent acidity.  What distinguishes Piona from other Gavi we have tasted is quite simply flavour.  There is no neutrality to these wines - they are delicious.
