It is one of Australia's most common and widespread cockatoos. Its distinctive pink and grey plumage and its bold and loud behavior make it a familiar sight throughout Australia.

This painting was inspired after Garry spent some time holidaying on the South Coast of NSW, where these birds are quite common.
