The Mamba Hybrid lands at approximately 3" of 80CrV2 on Neil Warren's narrow cutting-focused reverse tanto profile. It is the version of the design for people who want genuine field capability without the full 4" footprint of the Big Mamba. Everything that defines the Mamba platform is here: sabre grind, Power Swedge, rock textured G10 scales, and a blade geometry refined over Neil's forty years of daily carry in the Deep East Texas woods.
The Tan and Green variants are paired with matching colored Kydex sheaths for a cohesive field setup out of the box. All sheaths are USA-made Kydex.
Specifications
Green and Tan variants ship with color-matched Kydex sheaths. Black and Sand variants include a standard black Kydex sheath. All sheaths are USA-made.
80CrV2 is a carbon steel, not stainless. It will develop a patina and will rust if neglected. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use and apply a light coat of oil when storing. The toughness and edge performance are the trade-off, and for most hard-use and field carry applications, it is well worth it.
Neil Warren is a Lufkin, Texas bladesmith, Forged in Fire Season 8 Episode 23 contestant, LoneStar Knifemaker through the Texas Knifemakers' Guild, and ABS Apprentice Smith. He grew up as an Eagle Scout in the Deep East Texas woods and has been carrying a knife every day for forty years. The Mamba design is a direct result of that accumulated time in the field. Everything at Maximus Knives, including the Kydex sheath, is made in the USA.
