Tomahawk offers 2 nozzles for its Mosquito Foggers with 2 different micron ratings.
Fan Nozzle: 50-100 microns (included with all TMD14 Foggers)
ULV Nozzle: 25-100 microns
A nozzle's droplet size is measured in microns. A micron is 1/1000 of a millimeter or about 1/25,000 of an inch. For perspective, one human hair is roughly 100 microns in diameter. How a droplet falls, its potential for drift, and how it is affected by air movement is all directly correlated to its micron size.
When determining the recommended droplet size to use with a particular pesticide, refer to the product label. The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has created a classification chart that ranges droplet sizes from extremely fine to ultra-coarse. An example product label statement may be: “Apply with 20 gallons per acre using a nozzle producing a very fine droplet (60-145 microns) to ensure an even spread.”

The possibility that a mosquito bite during pregnancy could be linked to severe birth defects in newborns has alarmed the public and astonished scientists. There is no vaccine or medicine for Zika. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends population-wide measures for mosquito control as the best immediate line of defense.
