Nitrate Whole House Filter Filtration Process

Phase 1: Pre Filtration

Water travels through sediment pre-filter to help preserve the life of your nitrate whole house media tank.

Phase 2: Water Softener (recommended add-on)

Water flows through an ion exchange resin and brine water conditioner. Media may increase hardness in the water which is why a water softener is recommended.

Water is hard when it contains minerals like calcium and magnesium. You may see staining on your sinks, tubs, showers, and clothing. You may also notice less lather from your shampoos and soaps and even a feeling of film on your skin.

These are symptoms of the need for softened water. Hard water also causes a higher risk of limescale deposits in household water systems. 

Phase 3: Nitrate Removal Water Filter

Water flows through a nitrate-reducing mineral tank and brine water conditioner. In addition, we add our media, ERA® 6500 & 9500 to prevent bacteria growth.

During this phase, nitrates are efficiently removed from your water source and discarded via the system's built-in backwash process. 

Phase 4: SMART Water Filter (optional add-on)

Water flows through our SMART Multimedia, which incorporates a sophisticated blend of materials.

This blend includes two types of coconut shell Granulated Activated Carbons (Standard and Catalytic GAC). These carbons are infused with our Eagle Redox Alloys® 6500 and 9500. Additionally, an ion exchange resin is included to target and reduce contaminants.

Contaminants removed include heavy metals, such as lead and mercury, as well as chlorine, chloramine, and various inorganic products. The inorganic products targeted are herbicides, pesticides, and by-products from petroleum and pharmaceuticals.

Most importantly, this system utilizes Ceramic and Tourmaline balls. These balls are designed to enhance the water quality and maintain a more alkaline pH.

Phase 5: Post Filtration

Water travels through 5-Micron Carbon Block Post-Filter to remove any additional sediment and provides the crystal clear water that your family deserves.
