A really attractive full 2.5pp autograph letter by prominent Methodist theologian and divine, Richard Watson [1781-1833]. 

Raised in the Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion, he was somewhat more Arminian and less a dissenter, though committed to Methodism proper. He became an itinerant, or circuit rider, in 1796, and remained so for some years. He was a pioneer from the beginning. In 1813, he designed the original plan for the Wesleyan Missionary Society. It was later adopted. He then served as its Secretary. His Institutes were the first formal attempt to systematize Wesley's teachings and intentionally formed an Arminian contra to Calvin's Institutes. 

The present letter was written in his position as Secretary of the Wesleyan Missionary Society and addressed to Monsr Croggan [Walter Croggan] regarding his mission to Normandy, France along with that of Charles Cook, originally sent by 
Thomas Coke. 

The letter dates London Dec 27, 1825 and is 2.5 pages and retains original address panel as shown.
