This Palette creates ultra realistic dirt, filth and grime effects. The soot and powder colours have a smoke quality that can be built up to add even more depth to an effect.

The Grunge Palette features a curated selection of shades crafted to mimic diverse dirt, grime, and soiled effects, enabling the realistic recreation of nearly any unclean or distressed appearance.

This palette combines popular Skin Illustrator colours that were previously used individually, developed in partnership with leading industry professionals and perfected through application on numerous actors for on camera use.

The shades Soot and Powder have been introduced with the tag “fumo” meaning, “smoke.” and are designed to have a serendipitous smoke quality that can be built up into overlapping patterns. Laying down layers of Soot followed by streaks of Black from the Skin Illustrator FX Palette will introduce layering effects that add more depth than using either colour alone.

Important Considerations:

The Skin Illustrator colour system has a high pigment concentration, so cracks or shrinkage in the dried colour cells are normal and don’t affect quality. The pigments are set with alcohol, causing some shrinkage and uneven filling, but they reactivate perfectly when used and perform reliably.
