Neil Warren designed the Mamba EDC to be the knife that stays on you. At approximately 2.8" of 80CrV2 on his narrow reverse tanto profile, it is compact enough to disappear on a belt or in a pocket but carries all the design DNA that makes the Mamba family worth paying attention to. The sabre grind with Power Swedge, the narrow cutting-focused blade geometry, and the rock textured G10 scales all carry over from the larger Mamba models. Neil spent two months carrying a prototype before he made another one. That kind of testing is what produces a blade this dialed in at this size.
Specifications
Neil carried a prototype for two months before making more. That is how a working knife gets designed.
Blue, Black, Tan, and Green G10 scales, all with the same rock texture, all shipped with a black USA-made Kydex sheath.
80CrV2 is a carbon steel, not stainless. It will develop a patina and will rust if neglected. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use and apply a light coat of oil when storing. The toughness and edge performance are the trade-off, and for most hard-use and field carry applications, it is well worth it.
Neil Warren is a Lufkin, Texas bladesmith, Forged in Fire Season 8 Episode 23 contestant, LoneStar Knifemaker through the Texas Knifemakers' Guild, and ABS Apprentice Smith. He grew up as an Eagle Scout in the Deep East Texas woods and has been carrying a knife every day for forty years. The Mamba design is a direct result of that accumulated time in the field. Everything at Maximus Knives, including the Kydex sheath, is made in the USA.
