This stunning three-stone is original to c.1905, the Edwardian period. Set to centre with a round mixed-cut natural ruby with exceptional colour. A shade in between crimson and fresh strawberry jam this stone is utterly alive and offers glints of rich colour when turned under light. Many natural rubies have strong pink undertones, but this one is a more saturated red. Delicately set in platinum claws featuring decorative split-prong detail, flanked by two cushion-shaped old-mine cut diamonds with a combined approximate weight of 0.44ct.
The two diamonds are slightly smaller than the ruby, giving the ring a balanced and elegantly proportioned look. The soft glow of the antique hand-cut diamonds beautifully compliment the central ruby with drawing focus away from the brilliance of its colour. Like the ruby, the diamonds are claw-set in open-back settings, the gallery is intricately pierced with a scalloped open-work design, leading to dainty shoulders with chenier details. To a solid 18ct yellow gold band.
Unless stated otherwise, gem weights and specifications are estimated (assessed in mount).
