True, calf raise blocks aren't complicated... DIYing takes a few bucks and about an hour (if that). That said, the design matters. The right design can increase calf activation and offer a much better lifting experience than others.
After trying 2x4s, 45 lb plates, square-style blocks, wedges & ramps, we found they all had issues; mostly limited range of motion and foot slippage during the stretch. We decided to DIY our own block using 2 pieces of wood, a 4" PVC pipe, and grip tape. The round design felt a lot better... until the PVC cracked during a heavy set. So we drew up what is now our Calf Curve®, tested and refined the prototype, drove Mike's truck over it a few times to confirm it wouldn't fail, filed the patent, and are now proud to release it!
✅ The 4.5" height will allow your calves to stretch into deep deficit for full range of motion calf raises.
✅ The 3.8" diameter curved design supports your foot arches while your calves are in a deficit stretch, preventing slippage.
✅ The grip wrapped around it will keep your feet in their starting position throughout each set.
✅ The curve also allow your toes 'point downward' at the top of each rep for maximum soleus flexion.
✅ The 24" length will support various foot stances your calf programming requires.
✅ Has cutouts for easy pick up.
🔥 Attractive design with black matte powder coating
✅ 12 lbs of 3/16" plate steel
✅ Small storage footprint (24"L x 7"W x 4.5"H)

Apologies in advance when your previous calf block collects dust after you experience the difference. 😉
