Hyakunin Isshu is a classical anthology of Japanese waka poems, comprising a selection of 100 representative works. It includes many poems composed by court poets during the Heian period, and is considered an important work for understanding Japanese literature and culture.

[How to play Hyakunin Isshu]

Hyakunin Isshu is a card game using 100 Japanese waka poems written on narrow strips of paper. The objective is to be the first to grab the corresponding card after hearing a reader recite a poem. The reader recites the first half of the poem and the players race to touch the card featuring the second half of the poem. The winner is the player who has no more cards remaining in their hand.

One frame contains a set of reading cards and a picking card.
