It is not possible to fight forest fires using normal fire-fighting measures. The fire brigade needs support from the air for this. Just like the prototype, the SIKU fire-fighting aircraft can be filled with water. The signal yellow colour enables the fire crews on the ground to make out the fire-fighting aircraft even during thick smoke. With a press on the release button, the water from the tank hurtles to the ground. On the aircraft, the nose wheel can be retracted and the main undercarriage can be raised. With the new SIKU fire-fighting aircraft, the new SIKU transport helicopter (2527) and the Mercedes-Benz Zetros fire brigade (2109) and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 6 x 6 fire brigade (2113) vehicles, young rescuers are best equipped for their next deployment.
