Passing an object between two hands involves coordination across the center of his body. Sometime between months 5 and 7, babies learn the skill of hand to hand transfer of objects. It’s the basis for later motions such as self-dressing, eating with utensils, and holding crayons. The Montessori lock block helps babies practice manipulating an object in one hand and eventually passing it to the other. There is a magnet inside so the clicking sound makes it even easier for them to practice this skill.
