Captain's Log- This was my first adjustable razor and probably one of my favorite adjustable razors out there.  The weight of the razor takes a bit of getting used to, but once you find the right plate and the right blade- you will get some of the best shaves.  If you've never used a heavier razor before, consider "practicing" without a blade.  It will allow you to get comfortable with the weight and the grip.  I began with plate 1 (least aggressive) and did a few shaves with each plate until I settled on the one that works best for me.
