'Uprush' is the onshore flow of the sea - the final reach of a wave as it runs up the sand, pauses, and then gently lets go.

If you’ve ever walked a beach slowly, watching that rhythm repeat, you will have experienced that feeling. The rush and the retreat. The salt air. The way you sigh then let go without really noticing noticing. It’s a small, restorative moment. 

This ring was born on the sandy shoreline at Blackwaterfoot, watching those last moments of water trace the beach.

I work directly in wax, melting, shaping, and carving by hand before casting the piece using traditional lost-wax casting. The surface holds the movement of that uprush - not a wave frozen in drama, but the gentler ending of it.
