While I have many examples that I could use for a beautiful story of why this card text is so prevalent and essential in my life, I want to focus on something that’s a universal experience for us all: growing up.

When I was a kid, I couldn’t wait to be older. My brother is six years older than me, so I constantly saw him doing fun things that only older people could do. I was jealous! I wanted so badly not to be a silly kid anymore and just to grow up already.

Well… Here I am now—an adult. And I wish I could stop growing up so fast. I feel like the past twenty-something years of my life flew by in a blink of an eye. It felt so rushed, and the sad part is: I won’t get any of that time back. So now, as I read this card text, it reminds me to take a deep breath and slow down—enjoy the life I have now and see the beauty of it rather than wanting to rush into the next chapter.

I’m about to make a major move in my life—I’m relocating to Austin for this fantastic job! This incredible opportunity came out of nowhere, and I am so blessed to have it and experience it. I want to enjoy every single moment I have of home before I move, and when I move, I want to cherish every single moment of the new experiences I’ll have, as well. It’s hard not to want to rush through the tough times, but it’s important to settle down, smell the roses, and enjoy the view now and then.
