"The ultimate evidence of faith, is rest..."-Justin Abraham

I held onto these words while I created this abstract. 

Raw, revealing, doubtful, soul-stirring… creating abstract art brings out every emotion. It feels like an emotional rollercoaster. One moment I love it, the next I want to throw it away.

This one felt especially personal. I had this idea to paint my “ideal” birth, and after praying, God gave me a vivid dream. I saw myself painting a blue and white abstract, full of peace and deep emotion. I knew when I woke up that it was my “birth” painting.

Now that it’s finished, I feel both relief and frustration… because it didn’t turn out like what I saw in the dream. It changed so many times along the way, and somehow became something else, a dreamy Monet-like pond.

Over the years, I’ve learned to let go of the version in my head and let what needs to be released, come through. That’s where the real beauty happens.
