I enjoy the challenge of combining a very realistic image with pure abstract elements. Like trying to mix water and oil, it rarely ever works. In this case, however, I think I’ve pulled it off. There is something about our friend Nicole’s sharp, beautiful, confident face that works so well with the fields of chartreuse yellow and stark black. In her reserved expression, one can detect a touch of uncertainty and, dare I say, vulnerability. Those emotions are subtly enhanced by the disintegrated shape of her body and a small portion of her face.
