A rare surviving flying saucer inspired red and white lampshade with star pattern and red plastic cones.
The top of the light is painted pressed steel and the base is white plastic which is in excellent condition.
A white fabric cable and flat white retro ceiling rose (supplied) complement the shade.
During the late 1950s and 1960s architecture, cars, and gadget design took on a space flight inspired look reflecting a collective confidence about space flight and the future.
New materials such as plastic, dramatically influenced post war designers. Plastic was used for its own qualities rather than to imitate other materials.

Cable can be cut to desired length (when shortening the fabric cable use a small strip of tape to avoid fraying)
Ceiling rose fitting
The red ceiling rose can be fitted over most existing plastic ceiling rose backs without disturbing existing wiring making it easy for your electrician to fit.
The rose is supplied with the manufacturer's fitting kit and full instructions.
All lights must be fitted by a qualified electrician.
