Why upgrade your intercooler pipes? 

Upgrading your intercooler pipes from the factory silicon pipe to aluminium "hard pipes" allows you to have greater control over your boost levels with improved reliability. The factory silicon pipes often split with age and wear, creating a 'boost leak'. This can lead to having a sluggish feeling vehicle or worst case leave you stranded on the side of the road. 

By upgrading to hard pipes, you avoid the risk of splits in the hoses and ensure a smooth internal air flow surface. 
In high PSI applications the factory hoses can expand and even POP, these hard pipe also remove this expansion.
