Here we have another very rare Ronin Set-Neck model. The Phoenix. This is only the 6th Phoenix ever built by Ronin.
This exact guitar was head-builder Izzy of Ronin’s main guitar for a couple years and it has gone through some changes since it was first built. All modifications were done by Izzy of Ronin and are truly improvements. 

The first thing we noticed when picking up this guitar is how well balanced it is. The guitar sits perfectly on your knee sitting down and isn’t neck or body heavy standing with a strap either. The guitar originally featured three Ronin Single-Foil Pickups, but Izzy changed them out for three Foil-Bucker Mini Pickups. The three-way switch acts as a normal bridge and neck pickup selector switch and there is a button that turns on the middle Foil-Bucker Mini. The Middle pickup is always split, so that it adds just the right amount of Strat-like twang when engaged. The Black Pickguard was also changed by Izzy early on, to a much prettier 3-ply Striped Ivoried guard.

The upgraded Foil-Bucker Mini Pickups inside of the Old Growth Redwood body sound phenomenal, this guitar can cover lots of ground. They deliver that classic Ronin tone in spades, which I describe as a mix of PAF, Gold-Foil, Strat and Lap-Steel pickups all mashed up into the most unique and usable sounding pickups ever produced. They sound incredible for everything from classic Rock to Experimental Jazz to Country and everything in-between.

This instrument sustains for days with a bloom to each note, that you don’t find everyday in a Solid-Body guitar. The Neck feels extremely comfortable with its medium-large C profile which measures .87-.93. The binding and perfect fret work give this guitar a very high-end feel. We also love the natural looking and tasteful finish checking throughout the Aged Silver Nitro Finish. Keep in mind this guitar has a reliced finish, so that it looks much older than it is. 

Now to mention why this guitar is not listed for much more than it is. At one point it had started to develop a small hairline crack at the side of the head-stock due to getting hit with a another guitars head-stock on stage at a gig. Izzy fixed the developing crack before it could fully open up and it is now completely repaired and stronger than ever. The only evidence of it ever happening is a small line on the treble side of the head-stock shown in the second and third to last pictures.
This instrument has recently been setup by Ronin Guitars and plays like a dream with a nice low action of 3 & 4 64ths E to E at the 12th Fret,
