Dawn Clayden draws much of her inspiration from her deep love of flowers and vibrant colour. Influences from the world of high fashion—particularly the elegance and craftsmanship of design houses like Christian Dior—also play a significant role in shaping her artistic vision.

Dawn's journey with clay began straight out of high school, working at Morris and James Pottery. Although she hadn't initially planned to pursue a career in ceramics, her creative path shifted while studying for a Bachelor of Architectural Interior Design. In her final year, she secured an internship at Studio Ceramics, where she worked closely with a master mould maker who had formerly been with the iconic Crown Lynn. This formative experience helped solidify her passion for working with clay and laid the foundation for her evolving artistic practice.
