This is a good quality tan coloured leather case .

The fine stitching is good and all the buckles and straps are in good order.
The girth strap is attached so that the canteen would be carried on the off side of the saddle.

It is lined in doeskin or chamois which is in good clean condition.

Inside there is a double hinged plated sandwich tin.
The tin is in very good condition, inside it is stamped "Swaine & Adeney Ltd., London". There are a few minor marks on its outside
There is also a rectangular flask with a bayonet or captured cap.
The inside of the hinge is stamped Swaine & Adeney Ltd.
