Instructions for use: 

1. Ensure the firearm is completely unloaded and made safe with the magazine removed.
2. If possible, secure the firearm in a vice. When testing a long rifle, measurement may be easier if the action is removed from the stock.
3. Hold the trigger scale by the handle and slip the testing hook over the trigger at the point where your finger will rest when firing.
4. Keeping the scale in a horizontal position, with the indicator scale visible, pull back slowly until the trigger engages.
5. Release the scale. The trigger weight indicator will remain at the point of trigger release. Take note of the reading.
6. Repeat this procedure several times, ensuring the hook is placed on the same part of the trigger each time. Consistent placement and technique will help to achieve accurate results.
