I picked up this little games and points counter just because I loved its simplicity and thought it would be a fun object to have around--to keep track of all sorts of things, if not used for bridge, specifically, which I believe is what is was made for. It is made of either celluloid or bakelite and at bottom right reads Pat'd Oct 12, 1886. I've learned that an exact match was made as an umpire's ball and strike keeper--which has become quite the collectible because it allowed for a count of five balls and four strikes, before rules changed to 4/3 in 1888!

2 7/8" long x 1 3/8" tall x 5/16" deep and works great!
