The paper cover here is a bit rough around the edges, but what a beauty of a cover still, with that gold lettered title and brilliant green hand-painted checkerboard pattern at every corner. And, happily, the inside pages are in very good clean condition--and easily extracted by untying the cloth ribbon binding the folio.  Twelve pages here of examples representing the Froebel kindergarten occupation of paper folding, designed to, among many other things, encourage understanding of mathematical concepts such as symmetry and proportion.  I like the purity of this one, each example executed in blue paper, and each page representing a progression in terms of the complexity of foldings from the one prior, with incremental advancements on each page. Building blocks become larger structures, squares become grids. I have such a strong feeling of attachment to examples like these, which to me feel like beautiful distillations of the very act of making sense (or at least order!) of the world.
