The silhouette is defined by a tall winged back, deep diamond tufting, and sharply articulated arms that create a strong architectural presence while maintaining visual softness through proportion and curvature. Recently restored, the chair has been newly upholstered in a refined warm oatmeal wool-blend bouclé with subtle flax and camel undertones. The upholstery was carefully selected to preserve the chair’s masculine architectural language while introducing a softer, more contemporary editorial sensibility. The fine micro-loop bouclé texture enhances the depth of the tufting and gives the surface a quiet tactile richness without overwhelming the clarity of the original design.

This particular model has been extensively documented in period publications, most notably appearing on the cover of Casa e Jardim (Brazil House & Garden), 1956, no. 30, as well as in Giuseppe Scapinelli’s own published material. Its repeated appearance in these sources underscores the chair’s importance within the broader canon of Brazilian modern furniture and Scapinelli’s influential contribution to postwar design in Brazil.
