The Flomatic 4764 2" 63 cast-iron foot valve is a spring-assisted suction line valve designed to help maintain pump prime and reduce backflow in general water and irrigation systems. It features an epoxy-coated cast iron body, a Nitrile (Buna-N) seal, a stainless-steel spring, a heavy-duty polyethylene strainer, and size-dependent guide and poppet materials for optimal performance. Operation: Model 63 Foot valves are installed at the end of a suction line to help maintain pump prime and prevent reverse flow when the pump stops. The internal spring-loaded poppet opens under forward flow and closes quickly as flow reverses, helping to minimize backflow and loss of suction.
