I don't really know the story of this wonderful, finely hand-embroidered pouch, which I purchased at the estate sale of a gallerist and collector in Boston, who had some incredible South American textiles, including some ancient Chancay Peruvian woven pieces. I would guess it, too, is Peruvian, and certainly painstakingly done, with thousands of tiny cross stitches. I think it's quite possible that the embroidery is older than the pouch itself--a remnant perhaps, salvaged and put to use. Whatever the case, I think it's really a lovely thing, which could hold a phone, or credit cards, or sewing supplies, or love notes! 

6 1/4" tall (not including fringe) x 4" wide and in excellent, clean condition.
