This is a compact crankbait body for covering water around cover, edges, and depth changes.

Because it is a floating crankbait, it can be worked into structure, paused, and allowed to rise instead of staying buried the whole way back.

That float-up can save lures and also gives following fish a moment to commit.

Retrieve speed controls how aggressive the lure feels.

A steady wind gives it a consistent hunting action for searching.

Speeding up into cover, then pausing, can trigger reaction bites because the lure suddenly stops and lifts.

Around rock, timber, weed, or hard bottom, that stop-start rhythm often works better than a plain straight retrieve.

This lure makes the most sense when fish are positioned around a lane you can run it through — weed edges, points, riprap, drains, harbour structure, or shallow flats with scattered cover.

It is less useful when fish are suspended far off the bank or holding much deeper than the lure can reach.

The honest limitation is that crankbaits are contact lures.

They are at their best when they touch, deflect, pause, and change direction.
