Tasting Notes: Bright red-purple with a thinning rim edge. Freshly picked plums at a dewy dawn. Graphite. Dried peel. Star Anise. Rose petals. (NB: punchy punctuation, eh?) Precise. Short. Sharp. Much like the aromatic effect - sorry - ‘impact’ - of this red wine. Smells of blackberry and of Hemingway. Smooth and velvety, rolling and rich yet still a determinedly structural wine. Background tannins provide a lift and an elevating texture. A dry and long finish after the restrained plushness of a pedigreed McLaren Vale shiraz. Earth spice plums dates some white chocolate.

Serving Temperature: 16–18°C.

Decanting: Decant 45–60 minutes to soften tannins and open aromatics.

Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar 4–6 years for best development.

Food Pairing: Grilled lamb. Steak or roast chicken. Dishes with pepper, herbs, or gentle spice. Rich, savoury foods that complement dark fruit and cocoa/vanilla notes.
