The 6th Armored Division, nicknamed the "Super Sixth" or "Super Sixers," was an armored division of the U.S. Army during World War II, formed from a cadre of the 2nd Armored Division. This division fought continuously for nine months in the European Theater, participating in the Normandy campaign, the Brittany campaign, battles in the Siegfried Line, and the push across Germany, notably liberating the Buchenwald concentration camp.
